Dildos:

Let's hear it for the D to the I to the L to the D to the O, DILDO! (Let's hear it for Bitch & Animal for that little diddy...)

The great thing about a dildo is there's one for everyone - you don't have to get used to one that's too small, too big, too wide, too skinny, or too drunk to get it up. Nope! A dildo is there for you whenever, however, and wherever you want it. Heck, you can even switch it up if you need to.

Aw yeah... nothing says "I'm CUMMING!" like the right dildo filling up just the right places, but let's get one thing straight‹a dildo is NOT the same thing as a vibrator (although you can get a combo toy). Coya used to get so excited when she would hear ladies at her office saying "yeah, he got me a dildo", imaging they'd had a weekend of hot girl on boy strap-on sex, only to be heartbroken when the "dildo" turned out to be one of those vibrating "neck massagers" (yeah, right) you see in the back of Cosmo magazine. Trying to figure out the difference between a dildo and the, uh, neck massager? Simply put, a dildo is a toy designed primarily for penetration and most dildos don't vibrate at all. They're just there to stuff your stuff...yes!

So. Looking for a dildo, or disappointed with the one(s) you've already got? Your options are endless. Dildos come in all kinds of shapes, colors, and sizes, and there are all kinds of new materials that are revolutionizing the wonderful world of dildos. Amber's favorite dildo is a light blue jelly dildo with the balls cut off that can pack while Coya likes to cozy up to a clear Lucite dildo that looks like a cross between a sculpture and a magic wand. We've also had "affairs" with a silver sparkly dildo, an orange and yellow striped dildo that smells like passion fruit, a super fleshy cyberskin dildo, and a bright red two headed dildo (to name a few of our favorites).

When you're picking out a dildo, think about what you want to use it for. Is it mostly for your own private use? If so, pick one that makes you happy, that screams "Yes! This is Fun! Here we go!" every time you pull it out. What's your favorite color? Favorite print? You can get a dildo that looks like just about anything you want it to - we've seen 'em in every color, from flesh tones to camouflage, and in shapes ranging from penis-like to replicas of the baby Jesus (very traumatic for the Christian in our group!). Do you want one that hits your G-spot? Look for a shorter one that curves upwards. What size do you like? Remember that bigger is not necessarily better. One of the most common mistakes that dildo buyers make is getting a dildo that is too big for comfort. Amber bought one such dildo she thought would be delightfully...um...challenging. Instead, it was just downright impossible for most women, unless they were seasoned fisters. Remember, it's your body so make it happy! There's no shame in liking small dick, big dick, or sparkly dick!

If you're getting a dildo for use with multiple people, consider inching toward a moderately sized (in width and length) silicone dildo. Even if the "multiple people" is just you and a partner, you'll probably want something versatile enough to keep you both relatively satisfied if you're switching back and forth, and you'll definitely want a dildo that you can boil or disinfect (see below for our very handy and VERY IMPORTANT guide to dildo materials!!!!). Are you planning to strap it on? Look for a dildo with a flat base and a fairly thick shaft. The base will settle nicely against your clit, stimulating you while you're pumping away, and the shaft should be thick enough to keep the dildo from slipping out of the harness (we have found that at least one and a half inches in diameter should work well). Using your hand? Get a dildo that you can get a good grip on. Sick of the balls on your dildo? Chop 'em off - Amber does!
