July 1   Seeking Participants--GLBT Media Research Project
If you are a media junkie, and are regularly tuned into GLBTQ media (TV, music, movies, internet, etc…) and enjoy talking about media issues, I would like to hear from you! If you are interested in participating, please contact me.
I am a graduate student in Sociology at Loyola University Chicago. I would like to invite you to participate in a research project I am conducting as part of the requirements towards my PhD. As a lesbian woman, and avid T.V. watcher and music listener, I am interested in exploring the relationship between gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered media representations and social change. I am looking for folks willing to talk with me about GLBTQ representations in the media and how they affect our lives.
I am looking for people who are willing to do both focus groups and follow-up individual interviews, however, arrangements can be made for one or the other. In addition, for those who prefer, interviews can be done via email exchanges (no in-person required). All participation is confidential; informed consent is required for in person interviews and focus groups. In person interviews and focus groups will each last approximately 1-2 hours.
Thank you, Monica Edwards

July 1   Bisexual Women's Health Study
The Women's Health and Identity Study (WHIS) is seeking bisexual women to participate in a survey about their health and identity. If you self identify as bisexual, are at least 25 years old and are a woman, you may be eligible to participate. You will be asked to complete a brief survey about yourself and your health, including questions about health insurance, substance use and experiences of discrimination. In addition, some women will be randomly selected to participate in a more in-depth interview. Participation will take between 20 to 90 minutes. All participants will be compensated for their time with a $10 gift card to major retail establishment. For more information, please contact the study at 312.201.1851 OR biwomenstudy@gmail.com This study has been approved by the University of Michigan and Adler School of Professional Psychology Institutional Review Boards

A potluck will follow the run/walk. Bring a dish to pass. Cake will be provided. FREE

Meet us at the Totem Pole in Lincoln Park, opposite Addison Rd. Driving from the north, leave Lake Shore Drive at the Irving Park exit, and drive through the park to the parking area outside the tennis courts.
